Community Partnerships

With CHATS providing daily services to people who live all across York Region, it is often inefficient for home care staff and Meals on Wheels volunteers to start their activities by going to our Aurora head office to pick up supplies.

To solve this problem, we have wonderfully supportive Community Partners located across York Region. A big thank-you goes to the following Partners for lending us their freezer and shelf space: Regional Municipality of York, Markham Senior Centre, Thornhill Community Centre, Father Ermano Bulfon Community Centre in Woodbridge, Grace Anglican Church in Markham and Richmond Hill United Church. Many thanks for your support and care in the community!

Many of CHATS services depend upon Community Partners not only for space, but the most valuable resource of all – people. The following organizations support CHATS by providing hundreds of volunteer hours in support of seniors in York Region: St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Grace Anglican Church, Markham Missionary Church, Sanofi-Synthelabo Canada, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Markham Baptist Church, St. Andrew’s United Church, CIBC, ScotiaBank and the Reena Foundation. We are also extremely grateful to the following organizations for the ongoing support they provide to CHATS and to the seniors we serve:

CCAC - The starting point when looking for in-home health care, information about community health services or when living at home is no longer an option. The CCAC helps clients and their family members learn about long-term care facilities, guides them through the application process, and can serve as a central source of information and referral to other community support services.

Carefirst - A senior service provider in the Chinese community since 1976.

OCSA - A provincial association that supports, promotes and represents the common goals of its members, which are providers of community-based not-for-profit health and social services, so that they are better able to support people to live at home in their own communities.
