Planned Giving

Through CHATS Planned Giving Program, the Legacy of Friendship, we offer an opportunity to ensure a precious legacy for seniors in York Region. By making a planned gift in support of CHATS, you are helping to ensure essential services are there for others.

Our vision is to provide clients and caregivers with quality of life through programs that support healthy aging and wellness. Sometimes just ensuring that a senior eats regularly or is able to get to critical medical appointments is what they need to remain in the community. Other times financial subsidy support is needed so that they can get the care they need each day. At other times, we need to provide complete care for the senior and their caregivers through our Adult Day program and respite services - all in one convenient and supportive environment called a Wellness Centre . All of these needs contribute to our vision and all provide you, the donor, with options to consider.

Planned gifts directed to CHATS can be undesignated so that they may be used for the most urgent priorities, as determined by the Executive Director. There are hundreds of ways that your gift will make a difference to seniors and caregivers in York Region, including:

Transportation Services - $5,000 would enable 100 seniors to go shopping with our new Shopping Club.

Meals on Wheels - $20,000 delivers 3,000 meals to 65 seniors.

Telephone Reassurance - $10,000 would enable outreach to lonely seniors in specific ethnic communities within York Region.

Wellness Centre for Seniors and Caregivers - $200,000 delivers one year of service to hundreds of clients providing both a ‘home away from home' for frail seniors and support and care for their caregivers.

Providing a gift to CHATS through a bequest in your will is a simple and thoughtful way to reflect your compassion, leadership and vision for delivery of superior services and programs to seniors in the future. Other types of planned giving vehicles include gifts of life insurance, charitable gift annuities, gifts of residual interest and charitable remainder trusts.
